A private and warm space that merges design in every detail, artistic interventions and intelligent and exquisit architecture.

Five beautiful rooms on the 3rd floor of a four-storey antique building located in the traditional neighbourhood of Montserrat. They are all equipted with a private bathroom, minibar, air conditioner, jacuzzi or scotch douche, and a safe. Our living-room, integrated with a bar, is ideal for relaxing and meeting, also open to cultural events, music seasons, film, lectures and private parties. A tasty and abundant breakfast service is offered, served when requested.

BONITO is owned and served by a mother and a daughter who love travelling, art and culture, and that is what makes it such a unique and special place.  Here, you can feel the warmth of a home, the independence of a private room and the service and attention of a five-star hotel.

We like to live our own experiences, we love to be fussed over, we like our room not to be the same as the one next door, we find pleasure in little details, we take care of what is ours and value what belongs to another, we don’t like to be lied at and overcharged, we’re not equally pleased with anything, we don’t need the walls to be at a 90 degree angle if spaces are better shaped in another form, we don’t usually do what others do, we prefer noble and pure shapes and objects to pretentious luxury, we appreciate art, we enjoy a good film, we somewhat avoid watching television so that we can peacefully read a good book before falling asleep or have a nice chat or simple hug the one we love.

So BONITO is inviting you to enjoy as much as we do. You’re invited to breathe and gaze out of the window into a distinctive view of Buenos Aires, to wrap yourself in a fluffy towel, to take your time to enjoy a tasty breakfast and have fun pouring water into a little cup with a little chair inside of it, to lay in the bathtub looking at the stars…

BONITO has been reformed, merging unexpected architectural instances with the original antique style of the building. Each room has been intervened by a contemporary argentine artist, inviting the traveller to become a part of a singular microuniverse.

We aim to make BONITO a place for people who are looking for a sensitive and different enviroment, far from conventions and standards; and above all, for people who want a stay in Buenos Aires surrounded by beautiful architecture, contemporary art, design in every detail and a warm and special atmosphere. A text, a teapot, an intervened wall, a designed breakfast, an intelligent and beautiful architectural alteration, an alternative tour, a musical journey…

BONITO was conceived with plenty of love and dedication, and it’s inviting you to live a unique experience.

Bonito is a project developed by designer and artist Yanina Szalkowicz and bachelor of education science Flavia Tarnofsky.

“I was born and raised in Buenos Aires. I love this city, its tireless activity, its immensity. Since I was very young I’ve had the good fortune to fulfill one of my dreams, which was to travel all over the world, wandering about different places and admiring their diverse cultures. The pleasure of being in contact with foreigners led me to create Bonito. This was also possible thanks to my mother’s support”

5 rooms 5 artists proposes a committment to the space. Each room is tackled by a different artist who reinterprets its esence by giving it a unique value and inviting the guest to become a part of a singular microuniverse.
Instead of hanging a Picture on the wall, the idea was to merge the artwork with the new architecture, achieving full potential of its features, visual paths, colours and spaciousness.
